Cash For Class

Bristol Shop 'n Save launched the new Cash for Class program this past February. The program was a huge success! Cashiers handed out over 2200 Cash for Class code cards to eligible customers. Nearly half were redeemed online, which is more than double the industry standard.

Amanda Dion designed and managed the Cash for Class program. Bristol Shop ‘n Save was looking for a way to boost knowledge of our website, while partnering with our local community. That’s when it hit us! Let’s reward parents, faculty, and students that shop here regularly. Allow them to earn points based on their purchase size and enter them online for the grade level of their choice between 6th and 12th. The winning grade could potentially earn $400 towards either their Washington, D.C. or Senior trip.

These trips are an avenue for knowledge and this program would enable Bristol Shop ‘n Save to relieve some of the financial burden families felt in order for their child to attend these trips.

Over $1,000 was awarded to the Newfound Regional Schools! Eighth grade won this year’s Washington, D.C. grade group with 339 points! They’ll get $400 towards their trip. Twelfth grade won the Senior trip grade group with 150 points and will be awarded $150. The remaining grades earned the following: sixth grade $163, seventh grade $86, ninth grade $50, tenth grade $61, and eleventh grade $106.

Congratulations again to the winners!

News Release

BRISTOL SHOP ‘N SAVE AWARDS CHECK FOR $1,000 TO BRISTOL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL THROUGH HANNAFORD
HELPS SCHOOLS PROGRAM

Bristol Shop ‘N Save Store Owner Greg Gorski announced that he be presented a check in the amount of $1000 to Ken Darsney representing Bristol Elementary School on Tuesday, May 4th at 2 p.m. at Bristol Elementary School. The $1000 education grant is being awarded to Bristol Elementary School for raising the most dollars through the Hannaford Helps Schools program. In total, the school raised $367.

Under the terms of the program that ran from September 4 to December 6, shoppers could raise funds for local schools by purchasing certain products from partners General Mills, Heinz, Barber Foods, Welch’s, Hershey, Kelloggs, Gorton's, Unilever and Ocean Spray. More than 2,700 schools in five states participated in the program. In 2009, over $645,000 was raised. In the nine years since its inception, the Hannaford Helps Schools program has raised over $6.2 million for participating schools.

There was no limit on the amount that could be raised by each school. Each store has awarded an additional $1000 education grant to the one school registered through that store that raised the most funds. Bristol Elementary School was Bristol Shop ‘N Save’s education grant winner.

“On behalf of Bristol Shop ‘N Save, it gives me great pleasure to present this check to Bristol Elementary School,” said Store Owner Greg Gorski. “Bristol Shop ‘N Save is committed to improving the quality of life in the communities we serve and I can’t think of a better way to do so then by investing in our local schools.”

Ken Darsney thanked Bristol Shop ‘N Save for the check and said, “There’s never enough money to support all of the programs we’d like to offer our students and we appreciate receiving this generous check from Bristol Shop ‘N Save.
